Nov. 28th, 2007- Blood, 'Resorts' and Duck attacks.....

All is well in sydney, NSW. Met up with
the rest of the team and our one staff member...we are staying at a
glorified motel that is called Lonsdale Resort. I think they meant to say
Last Resort motel if everything is full!! There are record numbers of
competitors here. We are rumored to have 3 qualifying heats to make the
final...meaning only 8 go through from each heat totalling 24riders
(maximum
for 250m track). In other words the qualifier will be like a final if not
harder. Everybody is super amped here.

The only thing we are close to for food is china town....!!! Ironically!
So,
we have been having some good hot and spicy beef soups. The other day we
ate this thing in it that we didn't know what it was. It tasted like
nothing, well kinda like tofu. It was a tofu like cube but it was
blackish.
Today, I decided to ask what it was....i shouldn't have..." it is bloou"
what I said??? "bloou" he said....i said 'blood"??? He said "yes!!!.
Blood!!!" ooooooooooooooooooohhhhhh, I said, blood eh?? I didn't eat it
today. I am hoping whatever animal I ate it from was not taking any
illegal
substances, as I got drug tested yesterday during my training session at
the
track!!!!!!! I am sure it will be ok.

Well, that's about it besides getting attacked by a duck on the way to the
track yesterday. She was protecting her young. Good for her. That is
amazing to me.
